His-Stories: A Letter Letter Of Support From Clive MacDondald, ZaZen Budo Society
Posted on Tuesday, September 23 @ 14:39:07 EDT by aikido

Facts It is with Great Honor, to those with the Love and Honor of the Life and Code of Bushido/Budo, that we publish two letters.

1) A letter from Most Respected Sensei Clive MacDondald, aikido rep, ZaZen Budo Society, concerning the Jack Poole story.

2) The reply to this most welcome letter from Most Respected Sensei Henry Ellis

Before you click Read More, please take the few minutes to read the following:

These pages are in Respect and Honor for Martial Arts and Artists World Wide, and, more so, specifically those of Bristish Aikido Lore.

EzNewsTv will, as you will soon see, add additional Great Names and His-Stories of Men and Women whom contributed their all to the Sacred and Honored Martial Arts Societies they were/are a part of; Martial Arts Societies built upon Histories and Legacies of so many before them!

EzNewsTv simply desires to build this site on a foundation of fact not fiction, offering a small reward to those featured in these pages.

Therefore, the pages within these pages, concerning the Fraud of Jack Poole, remain the touch of black deceit shrouding the honor and repect we wish to portray.

Yet, we, EzNewsTv, would not have grown to love and respect those featured in this site, had it not been for our report on Jack Poole!

Imagine, the Gishi [falsified history] of Poole Sensei has brought forth the Honor, Duty, Beauty and Lore of Bushido and Budo of and in those featured within these pages!

An Irony of the Subject Jack Poole....

Hi Sensei Ellis,

Both you and I are as you know what they used to call men of the world, which in short is being worldly wise.

You can choose your corner and fight in it, people have said to me as you are aware, why does Sensei Ellis continue this, or why dos he not leave it alone, that in my opinion is not the issue.

If you love Aikido as I do and of course Derek and yourself, even the love of Martial arts in General such as Sensei Arnold Davies, and Sensei Bill Woods.

One must hold the truth to be sacrosanct, or people will, which is only inevitable, die, and their students will continue the lie with their misguided ignorance of the truth, and most importantly, will not be able to look to their teacher for advice, and reassurance, which will lead to a whole generation of people yet to practice, who will be told the history of J.P. AND WHEN HE, DIES, WILL SAY, 'Do not say that about a man who was Aikido's most experienced practitioner, who is not around to defend himself.' And they will quote his CV as well!

There are hundreds of stories in history that exist to this day as myths without a thread of truth yet people believe them, we are in a position to expose this one. So I will support the need to do it, O.K. Rock Scarfone tends to cut to the grist, but most journalists are like that, just pick up any paper to realize this simple truth.

One must admit he is writing his copy to grab attention and he is surely doing that!

No! I say Sensei carry on, you have the full support of, and respect of lots of like minded people, and I salute you for this, and myself being around some of the people who were present when Aikido first came to these shores, and listening to their utter condemnation of J.P. FOR MAKING THESE ABSURD CLAIMS on their behalf let the truth speak for itself.

regards Clive.

Henry "Harry" Ellis sensei, his reply:

Att: Sensei Clive MacDonald.

Dear Clive

Thank you for your most welcome message of support. I appreciate them all the more when they come from people such as you, who truly understand the m/a and it's ethics, I personally have received only a handful of negative messages and it is obvious from their content that the subscriber has only glossed over the controversy and has little understanding of the m/a and it's code of ethics.

When people ask " Why is Sensei Ellis doing this ? why not leave it all alone?" They should be told.

1: Sensei Ellis was privileged to study with many of the first Japanese to teach in this country when the martial arts were pure with a strict code of budo ethics, and by doing what he is doing maybe one day you and others will get a chance to breath that kind of air rather than the stench emitting from the British Aikido Board.

2: Inform them, " A statement like that can have no other connotation than to suggest that the speaker is condoning the actions and conduct of one JP and the BAB. They then need to take a serious personal review as to why they are involved in the martial arts at all."

3: Inform them, "As member of the BAB, be it a grass roots member, or a head of association and principal coach, are you suggesting that if you were treated in the same appalling manner as Henry Ellis was, You would shrug your shoulders and walk away. Then once again your pride and self respect, and don't forget those ethics, all need a major review before you bow your head and step on another tatami."

And you are correct about the falsified history of JP, If the recent biography went uncontested and JP passed on in time as is the fate that awaits us all, his students would believe his legacy, and it is their right to do so, would fight to promote, protect and enhance that legacy. and that sadly is how some legends are born.

John Burn asked me "What in your opinion would it take to resolve this dispute?"

Unfortunately there's little left to resolve . . .

[

The British Aikido Board Can Rectify The Situation By Simply ADHERING To It's Code Of Conduct By Rebuking Poole Sensei And Reinstating Ellis Sensei As The Fine Outstanding Member He Was For So Many Years BEFORE They Promoted Jack Poole For His $$.

We would also offer many thanks to those BAB Members who have sent us information, yet desire to remain anonymous, we surely value your input.

  RS]

. . . the British Aikido Board have tarnished the image of British Aikido forever.

It is not so important to me whether this or that group support me, only that eventually everyone alike, the public and all aikidoists are aware of the conduct of the BAB.

And it is to their shame that I have had to go to the lengths that I have to seek rectitude.

Yours in Budo

Henry Ellis

*********************************************

Now, I, Rock Scarfone, would like to say this:

  1. The Poole Situation is NOT a Ellis Vs Poole event. Facts have proven that Sensei Ellis merely brought forth attention and evidence that something was amiss with Jack Poole and his Self-Titled History, yet it remained the Duty of the British Aikido Board and it's "PROFESSED" Code Of Conduct to ultimately take action --rather than offer awards and accolades to the usurper at the expense of Sensei Ellis and the history of Sensei Ellis and the entire Aikido Membership.
  2. If not for the British Aikido Board, Jack Poole would not have had the ability, as he now has, to lay false claim to further Falsified Histories. A fact that is demonstrated by the recent release of the Sensei Poole Biography --one which has grown to include an allusion of his being the First British Practitioner of nearly every M/A [martial art] he can lay claim to.
  3. Those of you whom threaten, cajole, intimidate, remain silent or offer little support for your art and those whom truly gave their all, demonstrate little understanding for and about the Art of The Way...
  4. If it were truly important, the Art that you practice, you would understand that you, by your inaction, sully and disrespect not just the Lone Sensei who saw injustice and disrespect and simply spoke up, but the entire FOUNDATION of what you practice,,,, and what for?
In our soon to be published research, we will discuss how the BAB allowed, and continues to allow, Jack Poole to remain a member of the BAB due to:
  1. Jack's "close" relationship to BAB Secretary, Mrs Timms.
  2. Mrs. Timms "special recommendations" of Mr Poole to those Dojo whom desired membership but required a sponsor, thus producing many $$ for Poole and the BAB.
  3. an alleged under-the-table relationship that produced enough $$$$ that the BAB did not desire to lose Poole --to the point they sacrificed one of their most important founders, Ellis Sensei

We will soon release our findings ...
